HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Happy New Year everyone  Well finally we are in our new House. I have turned 60 and survived the end of the world On the 21 December. My dear Husband and daughters organised a fabulous High Tea for me and my friends before we moved. It was held at Royal Pines Resort on the 21 st floor and the view was amazing.IMG_0352

It’s not a race but I think I am winning !

For the last few months I have been sorting and packing , I am so over it .

My dear husband has now decided to retire, and he finishes this Friday, In his wisdom he decided we could move ourselves, so many trips towing the trailer full of both of our really good stuff…   and we are nearly there.  Our new house is finished and waiting and half moved into, meanwhile we have been repainting this house to get it on the market.  So not much stitching going on here . The cat is making sure he can come too. I think he could have found a bigger box .IMG_0307_1

I found this magazine a few weeks ago and just loved the cover. It is called Frankie and had some interesting articles. The cover is sort of embellished like a rubbing I suppose.  Very Tactile .IMG_0305

It looks like it was taken from beautiful hand stitching .

Another Weekend Gone

A busy weekend here ,gradually crossing things off the To do list before The house goes on the Market. While out helping , umm watching Himself build new front steps I noticed this plant in flower. I asked if any one on FBI new what it was turns out it is an iris a Brazilian walking Iris , such pretty little flowers but they only last one day I have done some sewing today And made a pattern for a couple of little girls dresses. This is the result .

Boxes Galore

Well to say I am tired of playing with boxes would be an understatement, Already the new house seems to have all we need but there is still a lot more to go north. My stitching is  only happening at night  or at my sewing days so progress is slow.IMG_0298IMG_0299_1IMG_0300_1

These are some more blocks from my Green Tea and Sweet beans Quilt  . Most Of the blocks I am appliqueing on papers . I finished the flower block today at Sewing.

We cleaned out the walk in wardrobe  OMG  did we have a lot of stuff in there. It wasn’t just clothes but also used as storage too. Now I have a line of boxes along the wall of things we are taking to Moore Park IMG_0303_1

I have a couple of other things I have been working on but can’t show them here yet as they are for swaps i am in soon.  The weather has been really crazy 35 yesterday and down to 22 today and windy as but we really do need some rain the poor garden is drying up..

Well I tried to be a smarty pants and keep up with my blogging by phone but it didn’t work The blog posts I di did not publish.  We are still living between 2 houses more in the old house than the new one .Most of my studio is up there and you can guarantee as soon as something has gone up there I need it here or vice a versa !  I love my new studio up there but alas no photo’s as I seem to have lost my camera  maybe on the train on my way home…..

I now have my old camera so am back to using that or my phone . The postman came yesterday with this..

A few weeks ago I started a new project A quilt by Jennifer Kingwell from Amitie, called Green Tea and Sweet Beans I just love it and I found another pile of fabrics I had already moved to my new house …..so brought them back again as you do..DSC_0571DSC_0573

From the kit . a multitude of colour….
